The Turkish Olympic Committee (TOC) will send 14 athletes – it’s largest-ever Winter Youth Olympic Games delegation – to compete in five sporting disciplines at the Lausanne 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games.
The Games, now in their third edition, will take place between 9-22 January and is the largest international winter multi-sport and cultural event in the world for athletes aged 15 to 18.
Held every four years, this year’s event will feature approximately 1,880 athletes from more than 70 countries. Turkey’s young athletes will compete in alpine skiing, biathlon, ice hockey and cross-country skiing.
This year’s event will feature an equal number of men and women who will compete in eight sports, 16 disciplines and a total of 81 sporting events. The full list of sports includes: alpine skiing, biathlon, bobsleigh, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, freestyle skiing, ice hockey, luge, Nordic combined, short track speed skating, skeleton, ski jumping, ski mountaineering, snowboarding and speed skating.

Winter Youth Olympic Games in Turkey
Turkey’s participation at the first-ever Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck featured a total of four athletes (one female and three male).
Four years later, Turkey sent a delegation of 13 athletes (six female and seven male) to compete at the Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in curling, ski jumping, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and luge.
