Synchronized Swimming coach Marija Senica Jovovic, brought from Serbia within the framework of "Olympic Solidarity Coaching Development Programme’ in collaboration with Turkish Olympic Committee (TOC) and Turkish Swimming Federation (TYF), continues with her work in Turkey. Her seminar was held on 25 April 2016 in Eskişehir Kentpark Swimming Pool.
After the information on the expected characteristics of synchronized swimmers, basic information, basic moves in beginner level and preparation of choreographies were given, the participants came to the swimming pool to learn about land training, flexibility exercises of synchronized swimming and the methods that are need to be followed in the pool.
Jovovic, stating that the seminar was very productive, “Turkish coaches have a big potential. This seminar was very productive and good. The participants paid a lot of interest. I am sure that some of them will be future’s synchronized swimming coaches. We are also working with the youth team of 13-15 and we have 21 swimmers in total. Our aim is to create a mixed team from the two groups for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and prepare this team in the best way we can. I open national team’s trainings once in a month for them so that they can watch, learn and improve their technics for synchronized swimming. I hope the existing interest will increase in the future and we can reach the club and swimmer network that we need for our sport discipline. I'm sure we will achieve more successful results making use of the hidden potential in Turkey.”
TOC has been covering all the expenses of coach Marija Senica Jovovic and the project in the scope of the cooperation for 6 months.
