Turkish athletes completed the 14th day of Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Nur Tatar in women’s taekwondo 67 kg, defeated Australian Carmen Marton 11-1 in Round of 16, German Rabia Guelec 5-1 in the quarterfinal but lost to French Haby Niare 4-0 with golden point in the semi-final. She defeated Chia-Chia Chuang from Chiese Taipei 7-3 in the bronze medal match and won the bronze medal.

Soner Demirtaş in men’s 74 kg, defeated Mongolian Unurbat Purevjav 3-1 (technical points:4-2) in 1/8 finals but lost to Iran’s Hassan Aliazam Yazdanicharati 3-0 (technical points: 7-0). As his Iranian opponent qualified to final, Soner earned to play repechage. He defeated Asnage Castellana from Haiti 4-0 (technical points: 12-0) in the repechage match and Kazak Galymzhan Usserbayev 3-0 (technical points: 6-0) in the bronze medal match and won the bronze medal.

Yasemin Can in women’s 5000 m final, finished the race in 14:56.96 and placed 6th.

İlke Özyüksel in women’s modern pentathlon, couldn’t take any points in fencing bonus round and in riding show jumping. İlke took 287 points from swimming by placing 5th in heat 4 with her 2:17.79 timing and she took 531 points from combined running/shooting by placing 12th with her 12:49.98 timing. With her 160 points from fencing ranking round that was held yesterday, İlke finished the competition in 35th place with 978 points.
