Turkey’s young athletes continued their excellent form on day four of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), adding two golds to their tally.
Muhammed Koç carried on the judo team’s success this week, winning gold in the -73kg category. He defeated Russia’s Daniil Matveev in the final to be crowned champion.
Turkey’s other gold on day four came in the boy’s 3000m. Ömer Amaçtan’s impressive time of 8:35,32 saw him comfortably beat his closest competitors.
Turkey’s excellent day four saw them move up to sixth place in the medal table. The Turkish team currently have four golds, three silvers and four bronze medals. Russia currently sit top of the table with 16 golds. 36 of the 50 competing countries have managed to win medals so far this week.
