President of the Turkish Olympic Committee (TOC), International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board member and IOC Medical and Scientific Commission chair, also a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Foundation Board and the President of World Archery Prof. Dr. Uğur Erdener will lead the IOC Executive Board Panel to make final decisions on the eligibility of all Russian athletes competing at Rio 2016.
Germany's IOC Athletes' Commission chair Claudia Bokel and Spain's Juan Antonio Samaranch are the two other members of the Panel.
The Panel will make rulings based on independent advice from arbitrators from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and will consider only those who have been deemed eligible by International Federations.
Over 250 Russian athletes have currently been deemed eligible to compete at the Games. The Panel decisions are expected to be made before the Opening Ceremony on Friday, August 5.
