Implemented since 2006, Turkish Olympic Committee’s (TOC) Sports Culture and Olympic Education (Oli) Project gave a start to its 11th term of 2016 – 2017 educational year in Muğla and Marmaris.
The Project effected by the Sports Culture and Olympic Education Commission of the TOC aims to help young generations acquire sports culture and practise sports early in life.
The interactive presentations will be held twice a day from 26th to 30th of September in Muğla and Marmaris. The opening presentation at Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Cultural Center in Muğla was attended by Governer of Muğla Amir Çiçek, Provincial Director of Youth Services and Sports Sekan Öçalmaz, Provincial Director of National Education Celalettin Ekinci, Menteşe District Director of Youth Services and Sports Mutlu Uzun, Menteşe District Director of National Education Ahmet Genç and Menteşe District Department Head of National Education Meral Takeş. Professional presenter and cherished mascot “Oli" animated the presentations and interact with the 4th and 5th grade students to give them education on sports culture, Olympic Games and Olympic Sports, Olympism and its values, Fair Play, healthy eating and environmental awareness through various videos, cartoons, small competitions and colourful images.
Some 6.000 students from 25 schools are expected to follow the presentations in Muğla and Marmaris. Over 1,5 million children, their teachers and families have been reached within the 10 years of application of the Project.
