126 of Turkey’s finest young athletes will compete across 9 sports at the 2019 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Baku, Azerbaijan from 21-27 July.
Organised every two years by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) for athletes aged between 14-18, the EYOF is aimed at providing young athletes with a first Olympic experience. 2,500 athletes from 48 countries are expected to take part in the Baku 2019 EYOF. Turkey's athletes will compete in artistic gymnastics, athletics, basketball, cycling, wrestling, judo, tennis, volleyball and swimming.
Turkey at Gyor 2017
At the previous Summer EYOF in 2017, which held in Gyor, Hungary, 109 athletes Turkish athletes competed in nine sports, winning a total of 19 medals (five gold, six silver and eight bronze).
