As the 2nd edition of the European Games in Minsk, Belarus, came to a close, Team Turkey finished on a high with another 5 medals in boxing, karate and artistic gymnastics.
During the final day of the competition, boxer Buse Naz Çakıroğlu kicked off with a gold medal for Team Turkey after defeating her Russian rival 4-1 in the 51kg final!
Merve Çoban defeated her Ukrainian opponent in the kumite 61kg semi-finals, winning Team Turkey another bronze medal!
Serap Ozcelik Arapoğlu lost to her Austrian rival in the -50kg karate finals, but won another silver medal for Turkey!
In the artistic gymnastics, Ferhat Arıcan won a bronze medal in the parallel tool! Ahmet Önder also won a silver medal in the horizontal bar tool, taking Team Turkey’s total medal count up to 15!
Turkey completed the competition in 24th place, with 15 medals: 2 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze! Medals were won in boxing, judo, artistic gymnastics, karate, wrestling, athletics and archery.
110 Turkish athletes took part in the Games in 14 sports and won 2 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze medals! Our medals were won by:
