The Turkish Olympic Committee’s (TOC’s) Sports Culture and Olympic Education Programme (OLİ) introduced the Olympic values, and the physical and mental benefits of sport to students involved in Türkiye’s Sports for Solidarity Project (SSP) at the opening event of the new programme period, on Saturday 5 November, in Istanbul.
The OLI programme, which aims to instil a love of sport among young people, gave a one-hour interactive presentation for approximately 250 children about the physical and mental benefits of sports, the Olympic Games and the Olympic values, Olympism, fair play, and environmental awareness.
The SSP Project which supports the social adaptation of refugee children in Türkiye funded by the Olympic Refugee Foundation (ORF), and run by the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports, TOC, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Türkiye, and the Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants since 2019.
