During day 8 of the 2nd European Games in Minsk, -50kg wrestler Evin Demirhan took another bronze medal for Turkey after beating her Polish opponent 6-2.
Evin was presented her medal by Hasan Arat, the Vice President of TMOK and a board member of the European Olympic Committee!
National boxer Busenaz Cakiroglu advanced to the finals in the -51kg category, after beating her Polish rival 5-0. Cakiroglu will compete on Sunday for the gold medal!
Badminton athlete Neslihan Yiğit unfortunately was defeated 2-1 in the quarter finals, losing to her Danish rival.
Kerem Kamal defeated his Armenian opponent in to 60kg match, advancing through the first round to the quarter finals. Kamal is now in the chance of a bronze medal!
In the 67kg weight category, Enes Başar defeated his Polish rival in the first round. However, unfortunately Başar lost to his Ukrainian opponent in the quarter finals.
Team Turkey’s total medal count is now at 6, after winning 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals in total so far.
During day 9 of Minsk 2019, we will see Team Turkey compete in boxing, gymnastics, and wrestling. Good luck to all our athletes!
