110 Turkish athletes will compete at the 2019 European Games which will take place in Minsk, Belarus from 21-30 June 2019.
Turkey’s delegation will feature 110 athletes who will compete in 14 sports: shooting, athletics, badminton, 3x3 basketball, cycling, boxing, gymnastics, wrestling, judo, canoeing, karate, table tennis archery and sambo.
More than 4,000 athletes from 50 countries are expected to compete in the second edition of the European Games next month. The 10-day competition will feature 200 different medal events with the Opening and Closing Ceremony being held at the Dinamo National Olympic Stadium.
The European Games are also an important stop on the road to Tokyo 2020 with many competitions offering athletes the chance to earn quota places or valuable ranking points for the next Olympic Games. Those sports include archery, shooting, table tennis, badminton, men's boxing and judo.
Baku 2015
Turkey’s participation at the inaugural European Games in Baku in 2015 saw a delegation of 190 athletes win a total 29 medals including six gold, four silver and 19 bronze. Turkey finished 14th in the overall ranking.
