NOCT (National Olympic Committee of Turkey) plays a leading role in helping the Turkish youth and the whole nation regardless of age, gender and regional differences to become healthy, sophisticated, peaceful and responsible citizens who have internalized the principles of Olympism and the Turkish Republic by fulfilling its liabilities and duties caused by the Olympic agreement.

NOCT will prepare four five-year plans until 2020 starting with 2005 followed by 2010 and 2015 in order to achieve its targets. At the beginning, the implementation practices for the targets identified in the first five-year plan will be determined.

The primary mission of NOCT is to spread Olympism in Turkey and to provide the actualization of the games,

To provide the possibility of practising sports as a human right to every citizen,

To create the awareness of leading a healthier life by doing sports everyday in all the sections of the society,

To provide access to suitable sports centers by the public in order to participate in physical training activites as this is a human right,

To enable the children and young people to do sports who cannot because of financial problems or lack of sports complexes and equipment,

To create the possibility of the participation of disabled people in physical activities and sports games and to co-operate with various institutions that work in this area,

To increase the ratio of women’s participation in sports games, to raise the percentage of women in management boards of sports institutions,

To cooperate with sports federations, universities, schools, local governments, sports clubs, associations, foundations and most of all with the related Ministry and The Youth and Sports Administration.

Close relationships with the above mentioned institutions and the related Ministry and The Youth and Sports Administration (YSA) will be established. Thus, our citizens will be aware of the fact that doing physical activities (sports) frequently either individually or in groups creates happiness, starting from the Olympic ideals and the Olympic Movement. The Committee will encourage the youth and the public to become more contemporary, sociable, well-balanced, healty and to respect the enviroment. The Committee will be helping the youth to integrate with the world and to communicate with their inner selves, as peaceful and respectful citizens who are following the principles of the Turkish Republic.

To create a contemporary sports management model which is autonomous in administrative and financial issues, freed from politics,

To organize the Olympic Games in Istanbul

To contribute to the economy, marketing, exports, investments, tourism, sports, youth and the image and prestige of the country by organizing the Olympic Games.

To give the possibility of doing sports as a lifestyle to the young people who spend their spare times in cafe’s,

To represent the country in the international arena effectively,

To represent the country in the Olympic Games and in the regional, continental or international competitions organized by IOC together with the YSA,

To make every effort for our administrators to take part in the management and commissions of the IOC, EOC and the international sports federations,

To help our athletes  show better performances in international games,

To cooperate with sports federations in order to increase the success level of our athletes in international games especially in the Olympic ones.

To establish a scientific platform to train the sports leaders, monitors and trainers, to provide continuous training covering all the areas including foreign languages,

To develop the health of athletes, sports medicine and doping centers that give ultimate level services and to provide constant training to the staff,

To establish olympic training centers and to activate the existing ones so that the athletes can have scientific training centers. To play a leading role in building new sports centers that meet the standards defined by international sports federations,

To improve the elements that support the Olympic Movement,

To communicate with areas that interact  with sports like environment, law, architecture, music, literature, education and other culture and art branches,

To establish a “Sports Museum” and a “Celebrity Gallery”fort he unforgettable Turkish athletes,

To pioneer in the activities on Olympism and Olympic Movement,

To improve the existing Sports Library in order to make it available for a larger group of people,

To develop a corporate identity and to improve corporate communication

To develop professional activities in international standards in order to improve the corporate identity,

To increase the level of cooperation in sports and interactive areas,

To improve the relationships and cooperation with sports federations, universities and other educational institutions, local governments, NGOs, public institutions and institutions that provide an economic benefit,

To make sure that all the publications including “Olimpiyat Dünyası” magazine  in the first place enhance the corporate identity,

To improve communication with NOCT members,

To reconsider services provided to NOCT members and membership procedures, to develop new standards,

To enhance financial resources and to improve marketing activities,

To contact IOC and successful national olympic committees of other countries in order to examine their marketing activities,

To reconsider the corporate identity and all the activities of NOCT with a marketing point of view and to reconstruct them in a way to support NOCT’s mission and vision,

To reconsider all NOCT publications including “Olimpiyat Dünyası” magazine, printed materials and the web site with a marketing point of view and to reconstruct them in a way to support NOCT’s mission and vision,

To execute marketing communication activities of NOCT,

To be organized internally in order to execute the communication activities of NOCT effectively,

To search for sponsors for NOCT, to sign agreements that can supply mutual benefits and to manage these relations effectively,

To organize fund raising events to support NOCT’s mission and vision,

To create fund raising objects such as logo, stamp, souvenir coins, etc for NOCT,

To organize fund raising congresses, seminars, symposiums, conferences and other social events.
